We want all New Zealand families to be able to experience the benefits of babywearing, or carrying their babies in a safe, comfortable carrier. While there are second hand carriers available at very reasonable prices, this still remains out of reach for many families.
So that's where ReCarry steps in. We recycle carriers that families have finished with. reCarry carriers are available on long-term loan, at low cost, with no bond.
Once you are finished with your ReCarry loan carrier, just wash and return it to us for another family to use and enjoy.
Do you have a carrier to donate?
Yay thank you for considering donating your preloved sling or carrier to ReCarry.
To ensure safety and optimum comfort for the child and wearer, we will:
- only accept donations of nearly new slings and carriers in excellent, clean, fully working condition
- prior to accepting, inspect all donations to ensure they are suitable and fit for purpose
- we can accept donations of new carriers too, please chat with us about what you would like to donate.
Please do not be offended if we cannot accept your donation. The families we help are often at a vulnerable and overwhelming time in their lives and we are hoping to make their lives easier and simpler with comfy, easy-to-use slings and carriers that will last for some time.
What donations can we accept?
Below is a list of the types of slings and carriers we will accept, providing they are in excellent condition. Please note this is just a guide, if you are not sure if your carrier is suitable, please just ask us!
Two-Way Stretchy Wraps (that stretch across width and length),
Close Caboo Carriers or ergobaby Embrace - stretchy buckle or adjustable carriers
Woven Wraps of all sizes
Buckled Carriers that have a wider-based seat
Ring Slings with un-welded metal rings, made by a reputable company
Meh Dais, Half Buckles and Onbuhimos - not home made please
